Holloway Extension

A significant glass extension was added to the rear side of this Victorian terrace in Holloway, in conjunction with a full re-model of the ground floor. The clients wanted a large sociable kitchen area and to this end a 1.7m x 3.4m concrete and timber island unit was centred on the enlarged rear room. Two large pivoting doors provide access to the rear terrace as part of a light and modern rear space with a much-improved garden connection. A central dining room connects to a much more traditional front living room with a very different quality of light and finish – this helps create a significant contrast from front to back, old to new.
